Economic and technical cooperation or ECOTECH, an important APEC topic, must occupy a prominent place at the Chilean summit. ECOTECH generates dynamism, brings people closer to the forum through concrete projects and tends to become a determining factor for the fulfillment of the Bogor goals. In fact, it contributes to priority aspects of the development of human capacities and to the sharing of their best practices by member economies. This article raises questions and answers regarding this matter. In this context, it aims to contribute to publicize and facilitate individual and institutional ties with this fundamental topic of the forum, of importance for the international political economy, as it facilitates the determination of its potential and realities, and for updating and monitoring of the ECOTECH process within APEC, as well as its lessons and usefulness for Chile.
