This article reflects on the so-called contemporary disorder, as it seeks to bring to the field of vision of international relations a concept often used in political science analysis: the question of democratic governance. It also describes in general terms the current order and the limits of the classical vision that has prevailed in international relations to understand said order. It is argued that democratic governance applied to the international scene means the strengthening of multilateral organizations, particularly the United Nations, as a way of injecting some degree of rationality into the progress of international order.
