Abstract

Sino-Chilean relations are at their best, and at the same time, they face an important opportunity to deepen ties. Bearing in mind the situation of the world and the Pacific Basin, both countries decided to establish bilateral economic-trade mechanisms, and on November 18, 2005 the Free Trade Agreement was officially signed. To further deepen this relationship, it is necessary to maintain political exchanges; strengthen the exchange between the various social sectors; initiate and complete the negotiations on services and investment at the same time as soon as possible, regulate bilateral economic-trade relations within the framework of the free trade agreement, and strengthen bilateral cooperation aimed at third countries; explore and test new models and forms of Sino-Chilean cooperation; and exploiting the potential of China's private companies, so that they participate in efforts to strengthen mutual relations.
